Privacy Policy
Last Updated: December 2025
1. Overview
Your privacy matters to me. As a freelance web designer based in Suffolk, UK, I follow a simple principle: collect only what's essential to deliver your project. This policy explains how I handle your personal information in line with UK data protection laws (UK GDPR).
2. Information I Collect
When you reach out through my contact form or email, I may collect:
- Personal Details: Your name and business name
- Contact Information: Email address and phone number (if you choose to provide it)
- Project Information: Details about your web design needs, existing website setup, or technical requirements necessary to provide accurate quotes
3. How I Use Your Information
I use your information exclusively for providing web design services:
- Responding to your enquiries and questions
- Preparing quotes, invoices, and project documentation
- Delivering updates throughout your website project
- Completing the web design work you've commissioned
I will not add you to marketing lists or send promotional emails unless you specifically request this.
4. Who I Share Your Information With
I work independently and do not outsource projects to third parties or agencies. Your information and website credentials (like hosting logins) remain confidential and are handled only by me.
Limited exceptions apply:
- Technical Services: If we arrange hosting, analytics tools, or other third-party services for your website, I'll share relevant information with those providers to set up your account
- Legal Obligations: If UK law requires me to disclose information
5. Website Cookies
This site may use basic functional cookies to ensure proper performance. These cookies do not track your activity across other websites.
6. Your Data Protection Rights
Under UK data protection law, you can:
- Access the personal information I hold about you
- Request corrections to any inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal and tax record-keeping requirements)
7. Access to Client Infrastructure & Data
To provide services such as bug fixing, upgrades, or "The Full Reforge," I may require direct access to your web hosting account, server files, database, or CMS (e.g., WordPress) dashboard.
- Authorisation: I will only access your server environment when you have explicitly authorised me to do so for the purpose of the project.
- Data Confidentiality: While working on your files, I may have technical visibility of your stored data (e.g., customer orders or user lists). I treat this data as strictly confidential and will never copy, export, or share it unless essential for the agreed technical work (e.g., database migration).
- Data Integrity & Backups: While I take every precaution to protect your site during development, working on live server environments carries inherent risk. It is the client's responsibility to ensure a full backup of their website and data exists before granting me access. ReforgeDigital accepts no liability for data loss or downtime during the course of the work.
